Overcard's thesis: poker's next million players are on their phones, not on PokerStars. The app had to feel faster than cash tables, easier than Zoom poker, and serious enough that grinders don't close it after one hand.
Tournament-first lobby
MTTs — not cash — are the hero. The lobby is a live feed of starting tournaments with a one-tap seat, next-break countdown, and shareable rail link for watching a friend deep-run.
One-thumb table
Every action — bet, raise, fold, timebank — is inside a 44px thumb ring. We designed the table vertically first; landscape was an export, not a compromise.
Pro-tool layer, opt-in
HUD overlays, hand history, and range charts are one tap away for players who want them — and completely invisible for recreational players who don't. Same app, two modes.

“The 44px thumb ring sounds trivial until you test it at 2am with a cold beer in the other hand — grinders noticed the timebank pulse before they noticed the lobby, and the opt-in HUD kept recs in the same app. MTT seats up 61% and we haven't touched a desktop port.”
