Queluz Holdings run an MGA-licensed casino that built its home market in Portugal and expanded into Canada in 2025 under the same MGA licence. The Canadian launch exposed a tension: a Portuguese-anchored brand had to feel native to Canadians — who distrust loud, US-style casino chrome — and respect Quebec French as a real language, not an afterthought. The cashier had to treat Interac e-Transfer as the default Canadian method (not a checkbox), MB Way and Multibanco for Portugal, and a single Visa/Mastercard card flow shared across both markets. All of it on one product, one account system, one brand.
A brand anchored in Iberian craft, translated calmly
The identity draws on azulejo tilework and Manueline stonework — but at 8% opacity, as a ground, never as decoration. Terracotta and deep green carry the brand across both markets. The wordmark is a tight humanist sans drawn to feel printed, not rendered. In Canada it reads European and considered; in Portugal it reads like home.
Cashier rebuilt around the payment each market actually uses
Interac e-Transfer is the first-class Canadian flow — a dedicated page with the operator's receiving email, an auto-filled reference code, and a conservative 5-to-30-minute confirmation window instead of a fake countdown. MB Way uses the phone-number prompt with a push-notification status ladder. Multibanco issues a reference + entity pair with 2-day grace. Visa / Mastercard is a unified 3-D Secure card flow across both markets. Each method is tuned to what the player at that step expects.
Trilingual localisation that respects Canada and Quebec
Every CA-EN and CA-FR string was written by a Toronto copywriter and a Montreal editor, not translated. Quebec French is not France French — vocabulary, punctuation, verb register and CFL-style line breaks are all Montréal. Currency (CAD / EUR), date format, KYC-doc list (Canadian DL vs Portuguese CC), support hours, and Ontario's mandatory responsible-gambling wording all live inside one shared component system so a new market takes a week to add, not a quarter.

“Every agency pitched us a 'Canadian version' that was really a repainted US site. Spinmark started with how Canadians actually pay and how Montreal actually reads — the language toggle is the CTA, not a footer link. Our Canadian FTD rate jumped the week we shipped, and Quebec support tickets dropped by a third.”
